Our double-Decker bus ride through Cuenca was actually one of two failed attempts at fun kid activities today. The boys (but mostly Finn) have been talking non-stop about climbing mountains since we arrived, so we had planned to go today. Long story short a very determined taxi driver convinced John that the stop just past the main bus terminal would take us to Cajas National Park. The taxi driver insisted this stop was easier and less crowded than the main terminal. The taxi driver was indeed correct except when the bus approached our stop it was clear by the wave of his hand that no more passengers would fit on the bus. It is, after all, Saturday.
Sooooooo two VERY disappointed kids and nothing to do but or say but "we'll go tomorrow" still not good enough....we pulled out our next card. A Double-Decker BUS TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They (but mostly Elliott) have been spotting them and thus shrieking every time they came near us so this seemed liked a good back up plan. Oh and you get a bonus ride to the top of Turi Outlook which has stunning views of the city all for 15USD.
