The next morning, we pulled out the box of cereal we bought, poured a couple bowls for the boys and filled the bowls with the milk. All looked normal, from US standards. The next thing we hear is, "The milk tastes funny," and the boys refused to drink or eat the cereal. I took a drink of the milk, and it was the best tasting milk I have ever had - but it was different. I don't know what the process is, but they left the cream in the milk, and it was sweet and wonderful. Finn put it best - it sort of tastes like the milk that's left in your bowl after eating a sugary cereal. Needless to say, Shannon & I love it, which is a good thing, since the boys will only use it to dip their cookies in - they won't even drink it with the cookies. At least they found something weird.

Milk
Like most countries I've visited around the world, milk in Ecuador typically comes in boxes or bags, at room temperature. However, the Supermaxi grocery store carries fresh milk called Pura Crema. The name scared us a bit - Pure Cream - but it looks like your typical gallon of milk, and a quick shake of the jug reassured me that it wasn't thick cream.
